How long have you been doing this?
2010 will be our fifth summer offering Summer Day Camps, and our third offering Residential Camps. Our staff have been working in the horse industry for many years, including our Head Instructor who has been teaching for nearly a decade.
How old are the children?
Our Day Camps are open to children aged 6 to 12
Our Residential Camps are open to girls ages 10 to 17.
What type of riding will the children be doing?
Primarily English riding, but we'll be introducing them briefly to Western too.
Where will the children be riding?
Depending on the weather, the children will either be riding in our Indoor Arena or our Outdoor Arena. A riding arena is basically a large fenced area with a sand footing.
Where will the children be sleeping?
Children will be sleeping in our new bunk rooms. There's 10 children to a bunk room.
Are camp fees tax deductible?
Yes. If you're putting your child in camp to allow you to go to work, you can deduct the cost of the camp for the purpose of income tax. We issue receipts on request, so be sure to ask for yours.
How do you handle any behaviour issues?
When we're around the horses, safety is our number 1 concern, and as such, the children have to be paying attention and following instructions. In the first instance of an behaviour issue, we will warn the child and explain the consequences of the issue. We will give one more warning before we require them to sit-out the activity. We will of course discuss any behaviour issues with parent's at the end of the day. In the most severe cases, we may call parent's and ask them to pickup up their child. There will be no refunds in these cases.
